Three days by bike immersed in the fascination of times gone by, unspoiled nature and lively seaside villages. From the Catalan ramparts of Alghero up to the trachyte spurs of Monte Minerva rising above Lake Temo, then again down towards the sea, along the river valley, through the wild kingdom of the griffon vulture as far as the Medieval town of Bosa.

Programme
Arrival day
Transfer or independent arrival to our hotel in Alghero. Welcome meeting with local representative: explanation of the route and bike delivery.
1st day: Alghero Villanova Monteleone (km 38)
Leaving the ancient walls and lively alleys of Alghero behind you, you will plunge into the wild Sardinian interior, with some splendid scenery along the route: lake Cuga, the valleys, the slopes and headlands between the small towns of Putifigari and Villanova Monteleone. In Villanova you will stay in charming restored old house located in the centre of the village.
2nd day: Villanova Monteleone Bosa (km 40)
As you leave Villanova you find the prehistoric tomb (Domus de Janas) of Pottu Codinu, and lake Temo. The route winds through the valley of the river Temo, where you will discover part of the area where the griffon vulture nests, amongst ilex and cork oak, then enjoying the magnificent long drop down to Montresta: 9 km towards the sea, as far as Bosa.
3rd day: Bosa Alghero (km 45)
The coast road taking you from Bosa to Alghero is a succession of rocky outcrops, inlets and wild vegetation, home to several bird species among which the griffon vulture stands out for its fascination and elegant flight. Forty km of unspoilt coastline defined as the most beautiful section of coast in Italy to cycle along by Lonely Planets Guide Cycling Italy (2003).
