1st day: Alghero Monte Minerva (km 49)
Leaving the ancient walls and lively alleys of Alghero behind you, you will plunge into the silent forests of Villanova Monteleone where you can stop for lunch. Another stopover along the shores of lake Temo to visit the prehistoric underground site of Pottu Codinu, before going on up towards the green sanctuary of Monte Minerva where you will spend the night.
2nd day: Monte Minerva Bosa (km 29 - 51)
To reach the sea round Bosa you can choose one of two different itineraries: either the breathtaking panoramic ride with its steep drop down through the ilex and cork oak woods in the valley of Montresta; or pedal through the bucolic pastures of the Meilogu upland and the olive groves and vineyards of Planargia.
3rd day: Bosa Alghero (km 43)
The coast road taking you from Bosa to Alghero is a succession of rocky outcrops, inlets and wild vegetation, home to several bird species among which the griffon vulture stands out for its fascination and elegant flight. Forty km of unspoilt coastline defined as the most beautiful section of coast in Italy to cycle along by Lonely Planets Guide Cycling Italy (2003).
