Arrival day
Transfer or independent arrival to a lovely agriturismo, where we get to know each other while our guides will explain the route at the welcome meeting and deliver bikes. Dinner and overnight.
1st day: Nuoro (40 km, climb 800mt)
We start off from Nuoro, the main town of Barbagia, whose ethnographic museum remind us the ancient traditions of its people. We climb to the top of Monte Ortobene, that dominates Nuoro, and later we visit Lollove, a fascinating abandoned village.
2nd day: Su Gorroppu (51 km, climb 1250mt)
Today, we plunge into the typical landscape of Supramonte, with a picturesque and challenging itinerary. From Cala Gonone, we start climbing up the cork-tree covered mountains until we reach the road SS125. We make our way through the forest of Ghivine and stand in awe in front of the amazing canyon of Su Gorroppu which, with a 250mt drop, is the deepest in Europe.
3rd day: Cala Luna (24 km, climb 250mt)
From the panoramic main road we pedal along comfortable dirt roads, to reach the natural arc of Badde Lupiru. It is now time to start our descent in the codula di Luna, a narrow gorge that leads us to the wonderful Cala Luna, which many consider the most beautiful beach in the Mediterranean. A short cruise along the blue waters of the golfo di Orosei, takes us back to Cala Gonone.
4th day: Cala Gonone (rest day)
Today we leave our bikes to rest and with a trekking or kayak excursion we discover the most hidden places of this beautiful area.
5th day: Cala Gonone - Orgosolo (47 km, climb 800mt)
We leave the sea and move towards the ilex forest and moon-like scenery of Supramonte. We pedal in a timeless wilderness where silence reigns unchallenged. In Orgosolo, we admire the famous wall paintings - witnesses of past years of social unrest.
6th day: Orgosolo - Orgosolo (38 km, climb 700mt)
Eagles fly over us as we climb Montenovo San Giovanni, the view from the top is breathtaking: the panorama stretches from the blue sea to the highest island’s mountains. We take a rest in a shepherd refuge, before starting the descent back to Orgosolo.
Departure day
After breakfast, end of services.
