Arrival day
Transfer or independent arrival to the hotel, where we get to know each other while our guides will explain the route at the welcome meeting and deliver bikes. Dinner and overnight.
1st day: The Monte Limbara (31 km, climb 1.000mt)
We climb the Monte Limbara, a granite massif shaped in sharp rocky peaks of spectacular beauty. From the top, we can see the Maddalena archipelago and the Su Filigosu forest, places that we will visit during the week. In the afternoon, the steep descent down to Berchidda will test our brakes. In Berchidda we visit the wine museum.
2nd day: The valle della Luna (65 km, climb 1.600mt)
The hardest day of the tour will take us from the Coghinas lake to the Valle della Luna, the Moon Valley, where granite stones with the most peculiar shapes seem to raise magically from the flat terrain. We end our day in a beautiful natural park with perfectly maintained gravel roads.
3rd day: S.Bachisio (32 km, climb 700mt)
After two challenging days, we relax with an easy day in the hills surrounding Tempio, where we visit the small tiny village of S.Bachisio. Back in town, we visit the cork museum and we observe the several different uses local people make of this material.
4th day: Monte Russu (32 km, climb 550mt)
Starting from Bassacutena, we ride along dirt roads leading us to the coast, where we meet the sea in Rena Maiore. We cross the coastal area of Monte Russu, and riding on a seafront trail, we discover some of the most secluded and beautiful beaches in the area. In Vignola mare we visit Spanish tower and small countryside church of San Silvestro.
5th day: Su Filigosu forest (41 km, climb 1.200mt)
Today we plunge into nature in its most savage form: the Su Filogosu forest, an unpopulated 400 squared kilometres land covered by cork trees. Tandalς, the only human settlement in the area, is now an abandoned village. We return to "civilization" in Monti, in time to stop at the local winery for a couple of well deserved glasses of Vermentino, the celebrated local white wine.
6th day: The Italian Polynesia (30 km, climb 380mt)
A day to relax and admire the nicest beaches in Italy: the islands of Maddalena and Caprera. Cala Coticcio, in Caprera, is nicknamed Tahiti, the transparency of its waters will tell us why.
Departure day
After breakfast, end of services.
